About the Author

The author, Sharon Ray, has written a series of wildlife tales for young children, to experience the African bushveld firsthand.

Being fully qualified in the field of Zoology and Education, as well as her work in wildlife conservation as an Honorary Ranger, inspired her to pass on this love of the African bushveld and to create a greater understanding of the environment.

“All life is interconnected and everything you do impacts the environment directly. Each person can make a difference in conserving our unique heritage.”

Being a mom of three children herself, and running a Nursery School for eighteen years, equipped her to understand children’s love of a good story. Her books encompass fun and adventure while learning and exploring this incredible environment.

Most of the illustrations in her books are based on her own photographs taken in the African bushveld.
